Detector Array
This is where the data is collected that ultimately produces the image
and the numbers on your bodycomp printout.
The detector is actually made of 64 sensors that measure the
transmission of two energy levels of x-rays. The dense tissues of your
body such as bone block more of these rays that the less dense tissue
such as fat mass.
The detectors and the x-ray source move from side to side in conjuction
with the bed, allowing the system to see the whole surface of the
scanning bed.
