Research services

Did you know that Bodycomp is able to offer great rates and flexible scheduling for research scans and projects. We have over ten years of experience in performing and processing bone density and body composition scans for a wide variety of research studies.

Our downtown office is close to the sea bus, two skytrain lines and many other transit services and weekend and evening scan times can be arranged with advance notice. Previous clients include the New Westminster Salmonbellies, UBC Department of Kinesiology, the Cardiovascular Physiology and Rehabilitation lab, Natural Factors and more. Call Peter to discuss your needs and to get and get your subjects scanned fast.

Bodycomp Challenge

So a blogger and a chiropractor walk into the Bodycomp office..... What sounds like the beginning of a bad joke was actually the start of a great meeting. In early November blogger Paul Piotrowski and chiropractor Dr. Nima decided to pay me a visit after challenging each other to a fat loss competition. They had already been at their fitness and nutritional changes for a couple of weeks. Unreliable measurements from the Tanita bio-electrical impedance scans had driven them to investigating what the best way to measure body fat truly is. Thanks to the powers of the internet, Paul was able to contact me personally and arrange for us to meet. We determined that I could provide the two of them with scans to help assess their real progress and they would help promote my services with their large network of contacts.

I find that many of my clients have been looking for a service such as mine and are often ecstatic when they find out that the scan is easy to access and the cost is very affordable. It did cause Paul and Nima to set some new goals in terms of target percent fat, rather than just focusing on a target weight. I want to make sure that people learn that it is possible to reduce body fat and build muscle mass at the same time. Check back to see how these two brave souls did over their challenge.
